On Saturday, July 12, Benedictine University Track and Field along with National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF) and USA Track and Field Olympic Coach Tom Pukstys, held the second annual Elite Meet in conjunction with the Chicagoland Throws Series.
 

Competing at the meet were several notable Olympians including Stephanie Brown-Trafton, Sean Furey, Kibwe Johnson, Kara Patterson, Krishna Poonia and Russ Winger. Also competing were Amanda Bingson, the American record holder, Chris Cralle, Elizabeth Podominick and 32 sponosored high school athletes.
 

Prior to the meet, NSAF sponsored a dinner for over 75 people in the Dan and Ada Rice Center Eagle Room where all of the competitors gathered for a meal and the Olympians were able to meet and mentor the high school student-athletes.
