Benedictine University Head Men's Soccer Coach Rich Nassif welcomes 14 newcomers who will join the Eagles roster this fall.

"After our high impact recruiting class of 2013, we could not be happier to follow up with such a quality group of players," stated Nassif. "These 14 young men not only epitomize the championship culture we demand on the field but also the high expectations we have in the classroom and as part of the community. While we return the core from last fall's squad, these incoming guys add depth, difference makers, and the ability to become more versatile in our tactics and formation. We are very excited to officially welcome the newest members of Benedictine Soccer and cannot wait until they arrive on campus August 15^th."
 

	Santiago Beltran Hometown: Riverside, IL High School: Riverside Brookfield Club Team: Chicago Fire Position: Midfield Coach Nassif on Beltran: "Santiago is someone I've tracked for four years and we are absolutely thrilled to have him. A very smooth player with a cultured left foot, he has a special rhythm and ability to influence his team's attack. Having trained all summer with the Chicago Fire U-20s and PDL, we expect Santiago to make an immediate mark on Benedictine Soccer this fall and for the years to come."
	Taulant Beshiri Hometown: Downers Grove, IL High School: Downers Grove South Club Team: Ajax FC Position: Defense Coach Nassif on Beshiri: "T is a local product out of Downers Grove and Ajax FC and comes to us from a tremendous soccer family. We know his pedigree and his club background have prepared him to be a very productive player at the college level. We expect T to provide us with technical and intelligent play out of the back and cannot wait for his addition to Benedictine Soccer."
	Paul Buch Hometown: Algonquin, IL High School: Dundee Crown Club Team: Sockers FC Position: Forward Coach Nassif on Buch: "Paul is one of those rare youth players who possesses both a goal-scorers mentality and a next level physicality.  He is very capable back to goal in the build but also has the sense of where to be in the box when its time to put the ball in the net. Coming off a prolonged injury, we are hoping to get Paul back in top form soon and expect many goals from him over his Benedictine career."
	Ramon Calvillo Hometown: Chicago, IL High School: St. Laurence Club Team: Inter FC Position: Defense Coach Nassif on Calvillo: "Ramon has been on our radar for awhile now attending two of our Prospect Camps and showing very well. He is another player who has a very sharp read of the game and can apply his smooth technical ability to any of the backline positions. Ramon is a high character player, serving as team captain at St. Laurence, and we cannot wait for his contributions to the Benedictine program."
	Rafa Chavez Hometown: Crest Hill, IL High School: Lockport Club Team: Chicago Inter Position: Midfield Coach Nassif on Chavez: "Rafa caught our attention at our most recent Prospect Camp and we immediately noticed some very nice tools to his game. He has a great frame for a flank player, covers a lot of ground, and showed the ability to play at a high level on both sides of the ball. Rafa's best soccer is still ahead of him and we look forward to his next four years as a Benedictine player."
	Francisco Delgado Hometown: Aurora, IL High School: East Aurora Club Team: Galaxy SC Position: Midfield Coach Nassif on Delgado: "Francisco is someone we have been recruiting for two years. We really liked his possession oriented play and ability to mix in accurate through balls in the attack. He also plays with a competitive fire that brings a definite edge to his game and his team. Much like he led his club side to the NPL Finals, we are confident Francisco will be an integral part of Benedictine's future success."
	Nick Kapetanos Hometown: Norridge, IL High School: St. Patrick Position: Forward Coach Nassif on Kapetanos: "Nick was on my team a summer ago at the Northwestern camp and displayed a true finishing ability over the duration of it. He backed up his camp showing with an All-Sectional performance his senior season, racking up 28 goals and 10 assists. With a crafty touch and the pace to put opposing defenses under pressure, we cannot wait to add Nick's production to our Benedictine attack."
	Corey Kuehl Hometown: Bolingbrook, IL High School: Bolingbrook Previous School: College of DuPage Position: Midfield Coach Nassif on Kuehl: "Corey comes from a Benedictine family and brings with him college level experience having played just down the road at College of DuPage. We know he will add some maturity to our squad, just as we saw last season with the impactful contributions of numerous transfers. We look forward to adding Corey's playing experience and positional versatility to the Benedictine Soccer family."
	Steve Mack Hometown: Itasca, IL High School: Lake Park Club Team: Arsenal Position: Goalkeeper Coach Nassif on Mack: "Steve had a very successful senior year at Lake Park leading them to the State Semifinals. He possesses an ideal frame, raw athleticism, and has good timing off his line. Continuing to develop in our training environment, we know his play will only sharpen over the next four years. Steve makes our goalkeeper corps even better and we cannot wait to see what he can do between the posts for Benedictine."
	Gustavo Maso Hometown: Lockport, IL High School: Lockport Club Team: Chicago Magic Position: Midfield Coach Nassif on Maso: "Gustavo is another player we evaluated at our Prospect Camp. As a player very comfortable on the left flank, he showed well running at the defense. He plays both sides of the ball, a very important aspect for midfielders at this level. Having suffered a leg injury this past spring, we hope to get Gustavo healthy and on the field for Benedictine as soon as possible."
	Gio Ovalle Hometown: Woodstock, IL High School: Woodstock North Club Team: Sockers FC Position: Defense / Midfield Coach Nassif on Ovalle: "Gio was the first player in this class to give his commitment. We've seen him play quite a bit but he really impressed at Regionals last year with his attacking play out of the left back spot. He has continued to improve since, and has shown an all-around play while at central midfield for Sockers FC this season. No matter what position he ends up in, we are very excited to see what Gio can do in a Benedictine jersey this fall."
	Drew Schmucker Hometown: De Soto, KS High School: De Soto Club Team: Kansas Rush Wolves Position: Midfield Coach Nassif on Schmucker: "Drew marks the only out of state player for this class and we could not be happier to have him. Seeing him play live, it is no surprise he earned All-State honors in Kansas. There is a rhythm, thought process, and confidence to his game that are of a winning caliber. We are very pleased to welcome Drew and everything he has to offer to Benedictine."
	Mark Tun Hometown: Wood Dale, IL High School: St. Viator Position: Defense Coach Nassif on Tun: "Mark comes to us from the storied St. Viator program. He has a tremendous passion and it shows in the way he reads the game, his competitive spirit, and his approach as a team first player. As he continues to develop his game, the sky is the limit with the work ethic he invests. Through his play and the culture he exemplifies, we fully expect Mark to make Benedictine a better program."
	Alex Unzueta Hometown: Chicago, IL High School: St. Laurence Previous School: DePaul University Position: Midfield Coach Nassif on Unzueta: "Alex is a player we recruited very heavily coming out of St. Laurence where he was an All-Sectional midfielder. He possesses a smooth rhythm, sharp vision, and the ability of a dangerous playmaker. Having spent a year at DePaul, we will see where his game is at but are very happy to finally have Alex joining us at Benedictine."
