Billie Named First Team All-Conference

Junior libero Kristina Billie has earned All Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference First Team honors for the third straight season while junior outside hitter Lauren Wieber has been named Honorable Mention.

Billie led Benedictine and was third in the conference in total digs (507) and digs per set (4.92). The Frankfort, IL native also tallied a team-high 35 aces while playing in every single match for the Eagles this season.

Last season Billie was named the Defensive Player of the Year and is just 345 digs shy of tying the school record for digs in a career (1,998). She has averaged 551 digs per season over the last three years.

In her first season in a Benedictine uniform, Wieber totaled a team high 227 kills and 2.55 kills per set. The Grand Rapids, MI native also recorded 64 digs and 27 total blocks. Wieber tallied a season high 13 kills on October 13 in the Eagles win over Rockford.

"Kristina and Lauren are very deserving of these honors," said head coach Jennifer Wildes. "Kristina has consistently been one of the top defensive players in our conference for the last three years. She had another fantastic season at libero for us. Lauren has been a great addition to our program. She is a dynamic hitter and is really fun to watch."
