David Swanson was inducted into the Benedictine University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998 as a student-athlete.

A two-sport athlete, Swanson played under another BenU Hall of Fame Inductee, Tom Beck. Swanson set several school records including one for interceptions (12).

Swanson was named the Defensive MVP and Little All-American in 1975.

On the baseball diamond, he was an NAIA All-Scholastic athlete and was part of four NIIC title squads from 1973-76. He graduated from the school as Valedictorian.


Swanson still serves as the assistant baseball coach and Assistant Director of Athletics at Benedictine.
