MILWAUKEE, WI - Claire Gibler became the second consecutive Benedictine University women's basketball player to receive weekly honors from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Gibler earned her first career honor by setting a career high with 24 points against Dominican on Tuesday and then bettering the mark with 26 on Saturday against Marian. Both contests were victories. For the week, the senior averaged 25 points to go with 8.5 rebounds, four blocks and 3.5 assists. Gibler grabbed 12 rebounds in the Dominican win and added six blocks in the Marian contest. Gibler currently sits third in the conference in scoring at 16.6 points per game.
Benedictine (4-3, 2-0 NACC) faces Wisconsin Lutheran tonight in a matchup of a pair of conference unbeatens.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Benedictine University forward Claire Gibler (Berkeley, Ill.) has been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5, 2021, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Gibler, a senior, averaged 25.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 3.5 assists as Benedictine opened NACC play with victories over Dominican (65-49) and Marian (89-51). In the league opener against the Stars, Gibler posted a career-high 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting with four 3-pointers while pulling down 14 rebounds. She bettered her personal single-game scoring mark with 26 points against Marian on 10-of 18 shooting and six 3-pointers. Gibler also had six blocks, five assists, and three rebounds against the Sabres.
