Greg Raimondi

Greg Raimondi joins Coach Kluckhohn’s staff for the 2012-2013 track and field season. His main coaching duties are working with the throwers on both the men’s and women’s teams.

Raimondi comes to Benedictine with a very impressive collegiate resume, as he was a member of Carthage College’s men’s track and field team. In his time there, he racked up many awards, and holds the school record for both the weight and hammer throws. He was a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier, earning All-American honors by placing third in 2012. He also qualified nationally in five different events in 2011. In addition, he is a three-time winner of the Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin’s “Field Athlete of the Meet” for both indoor and outdoor. He also won Carthage’s “Field MVP” award two times.

Not only did Raimondi stand out on the field at Carthage. He also stood out in the classroom, being named All-Academic All-American twice and winning the CCIW’s Jack Swartz All-Academic Award. He made the Carthage College Directors Honor Roll five semesters, and was named “Student of the Year” for the Exercise Sports Science and Health Department.

In January of 2013, he graduated from Carthage with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a specialization in Physical Education and a minor in Health, and gained experience while at Carthage by student teaching both Physical Education and Health classes from kindergarten through seniors in high school.
