Benedictine University Athletics

Jonathon Schmidt joined the Benedictine University Athletic Department as the Head Women's Tennis Coach in 2013. Schmidt is already familiar with the school and team, having served as an assistant for the Eagles in 2012.
 
Schmidt brings to the program a wide range of experience in the sport of tennis. Since 1997, Schmidt has been teaching tennis at the Vaughan Athletic Center (formerly known as Aurora Tennis Club), coaching different programs and aiding some of the best young tennis players in the country. He also learned the game as an up-and-coming tennis player at the Aurora Tennis Club, playing with and against many nationally ranked players and learning from some of the top tennis professionals in Illinois.
 
As a player, Schmidt played collegiately at Division I Northern Illinois University. He prepped at Oswego High School, where he lettered in Tennis.
 
Schmidt is also the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Stumm Insurance in Naperville. He and his wife Jaclyn have a son named Brandon.
