Kate Daniel has been hired as Head Dance Coach for the 2014-2015 school year. She brings years of experience to competitive dance as both a coach and an athlete, as well as familiarity to the Benedictine University Athletic Department.
After taking up competitive dancing at age five, Daniel carried her love for the sport on through college at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she served as Co-Captain for two seasons and was a member of a first place national finisher. While in school, Daniel served as Head Coach of the dance team at Menasha High School for two years, where her teams placed second in Hip Hop at the state competition and third at the Wisconsin Rapids Competition. After relocating to Illinois in 2008, Daniel served as the Competitive Poms Coach and as a Dance Instructor for over three years at the Fox Valley Park District in Aurora, where she choreographed and facilitated various routines and lessons.
Upon graduating from UW-Oshkosh with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in January of 2007, Daniel taught two years of preschool at Community Childcare Center in Kimberly, Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin Head Start in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
From 2008-2011, she served as an Admissions Advisor at DeVry University in Naperville, where she earned the Team Spirit Award for demonstrating a positive attitude and promoting a strong team environment. She was later promoted to Practicum Coordinator, a position she still holds. In this role, she received the Ron Taylor Award for outstanding performance in 2011. In June of 2011, Daniel completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago.
