Men's soccer defeated by second half blitz, 3-1

Eagles score first, but MSOE takes the match

The Benedictine men's soccer team scored first, but it was the Milwaukee School of Engineering that scored more often in taking the 3-1 Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) win at the Sports Complex on Saturday. The loss left the Eagles at 5-8 overall and 1-5 in the NAC standings.

Ryan Kozin punched in his team-leading fourth goal of 2009 at the 9:08 mark of the match.  Izzy Castro was credited with the assist that made it 1-0, as it remained until halftime.

MSOE showed why it is unbeaten in the NAC in the second half, scoring goals in the 62nd, 77th and 78th minutes to overcome the Eagles and take the win.

BU goalkeeper Jim Hanley had three saves and was charged with all three goals.

The Raiders out-shot Benedictine by a 10-3 margin for the game.
