AURORA, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team closed out the 2009 season with a 2-0 loss at Aurora University on Monday afternoon. The Eagles finished the season with a 7-10-1 overall record and were 3-7-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC).

Benedictine found itself dominated by the Spartans (11-5-1, 7-4 NAC) in the regular season finale. AU out-shot the Eagles by a 22-0 margin, with 14 shots directly on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Orlando Esparza made 12 saves, six in each half, while also giving up a goal in each segment. Esparza entered the match coming off of two consecutive shutouts.
