RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Benedictine University tallied a late goal to break a deadlock and post a 2-1 win over Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday afternoon. The victory improved the Eagles to 2-8 overall and 2-5 in the Northern Athletics Conference.
The two teams played a scoreless deadlock for the first 70 minutes of the match until the Eagles' Dani O'Toole headed in a corner kick from
Rachel Wilson at the 70:26 minute juncture. It was O'Toole's first goal of the season and gave BU the 1-0 advantage.
The Cougars knotted matters at 1-1 in the 76th minute of play.
Then, with just over two minutes left to play, BU's
Melissa Swanson took a pass from Wilson and scored the game-winning goal. It was Swanson's first goal of the year.
