Women's soccer falls to Falcons at home

CUW scores 4-1 win over Benedictine

Benedictine University found itself on the short end of a 4-1 decision versus Concordia University (Wis.) on Saturday at The Sports Complex.  The loss dropped the Eagles to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the Northern Athletics Conference.

Goalkeeper Melissa Hernandez was saddled with all four goals. She also had four saves on the day.

CUW held a distinct advantage in shot attempts, 18-4, sending eight directly on goal. BU had all four of its attempts on goal.

The Eagles lone goal of the day came at the 24:39 minute mark of the match when freshman Rachel Wilson converted a penalty kick after the Falcons were whistled for a handball in the box. It was Wilson's team-leading fourth goal of the year.

Concordia held a 3-1 halftime advantage and added an insurance goal in the 69th minute of play.
