LISLE, Ill. – The Benedictine University women's soccer team used a two-goal second half to defeat Northern Athletics Conference opponent Wisconsin Lutheran 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.
The Eagles (6-7-1, 5-5-1 NAC) took a 1-0 lead in the 27
th minute off the foot of
Nikki Jhanji, who had two shots in the game. Benedictine out-shot Wisconsin Lutheran (4-13-1, 1-9-1 NAC) 15-1 in the first half.
Ale Farias kicked things off in the second half, finding the back of the net off a cross from
Kristina Frampton to put BenU up 2-0. The Eagles scoring would continue when
Melissa Swanson scored Benedictine's final goal in the 85
th minute to secure the 3-0 victory.
Megan Johnson led all players with seven shots while Swanson had six of her own.
Michelle Del Sarto had two saves while WLC keeper, Katie Sloan saved eight of BenU's 11 shots on goal.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday, October 23 at 4:30 p.m. when they host Marian University for Senior Night.
