LISLE, Ill. – The Benedictine University women's soccer team took 17 shots in a 0-0 double-overtime decision against Marian University on Saturday night at the Sports Complex. Four seniors were honored before the game: Manpreet Kaur, Melissa Swanson, Danielle O'Toole, Kaitlin Mitchell and Carly Madison.
Benedictine (6-6-2, 5-4-2) out-shot the Sabres (9-6-1, 7-4-1) 7-1 in the first half. Rachel Wilson had four shots on goal in the game while Nikki Jhanji# had three shots.
Marian had three shots on goal in the game, all resulting in saves from BenU keeper, Michelle Del Sarto. The Eagles could not get a shot on goal in overtime, but took two shots in the second overtime and held the Sabres to zero shots.
With the clock winding down, neither team could find the back of the net to result in a 0-0 tie.
The women's team is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 27 when they host Rockford College at 7:00 p.m.
