LISLE, Ill. – The Benedictine University women's soccer team used a four-goal first half to defeat Rockford College 7-0 on Wednesday night in Northern Athletics Conference action. The win moved the Eagles to 7-7-2 on the year while the Regents dropped to 1-15-3.
Melissa Swanson kicked off the scoring for the Eagles in the 21
st minute and recorded an assist in the 29
th minute when
Erika Wossner found the back of the net past RC keeper, Sheila Roijas.
Manpreet Kaur got the start for Benedictine in between the posts.
Benedictine out-shot the Regents 16-0 in the first half and took eight corner kicks.
Megan Johnson scored two goals in the game, the first coming just two minutes into the second half followed by her second in the 50
th minute.
Kaitlin Mitchell scored the final goal of the game, a cross from
Courtney Juby in the 64
th minute.
Benedictine out-shot RC 30-0 in the game while Johnson led the Eagles with four shots.
Rachel Wilson, Swanson, Mitchelle, and
Briana Grenke each tallied three shots. The Rockford keeper, Roijas, talled 11 saves in the game.
