LISLE, Ill. – After allowing two first half goals, the Benedictine University women's soccer team regrouped and scored two goals of their own in the second half of a Northern Athletics Conference contest on Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough as the Eagles dropped fell 3-2 to Aurora University at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.

The win improves the Spartans to 4-2-0 on the year and drops the Eagles to 2-3-0 overall.

Eagle keeper Michelle Del Sarto had nine saves in the match while Nikki Jhanji had two shots on goal in the loss.

Aurora took an early lead in the 6^th minute on a header from Christine Kwilosz that found the back of the net past Del Sarto. Less than two minutes later, Jordan Joyce put the Spartans up 2-0 on a cross from Molly Thayer that found Joyce for the goal.  

Jhanji cut the Spartan lead in half in the 46^th minute, scoring on a free kick from 30 yards out, right over the AU keeper, Amanda Liss. 

The Spartans would take a two-goal lead in the 54^th minute when Kaitlyn Crohan scored, unassisted to give AU a 3-1 advantage. Benedictine never gave up and scored in the 67^th minute off the foot of Megan Johnson. The two teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the game, but it was Aurora who came out on top, 3-2.

Next up for the Eagles is a Northern Athletics Conference match against Edgewood College at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 18 at the Sports Complex.
