MADISON, Wis. - The Benedictine University men's socccer team suffered their first Northern Athletics Conference loss on Saturday morning with a 1-0 defeat at Edgewood College.
Both teams took five shtos in the first half but headed into half time at a 0-0 draw. Edgewood (4-4-3, 2-2-1 NAC) took 12 shots in the second half and eventually finding the back of the net late in the second half when Evan Conrad sent a free kick to the goal line for the put-in by Alexander Ribeiro for the 1-0 victory over Benedictine (4-4-1, 2-1-1 NAC).
As a team, BenU was out-shot 17-5 while
Jesse Ortiz took four shots and
Edgar Reyes had three. Manny Ramirez had three saves behind the net.
Edgewood's Robert Huss had three saves.
The Eagles are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they have a 2:00 p.m. contest at Benedictine University-Springfield.
