FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team defeated Marian University, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in Northern Athletics Conference action.
As a team, the Eagles (7-6-2, 4-3-2 NAC) out-shot the Sabres 11-9.
Jesse Ortiz led BenU with two shots on goal.
Benedictine started the scoring early on in the 12th minute when
Edgar Reyes found
Izzy Castro in front of the net to put BenU up 1-0. Neither team would score the rest of the half.
The Eagles took eight shots in the second half and finally found the back of the net when
Mostafa Abdelrahman scored with less than a minute remaining in the game to give BenU the 2-0 victory.
Orlando Esparza had five saves in the game.
The men's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Aurora University for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
