AURORA, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team held first place Aurora University to a one-goal lead for over 88 minutes but it wasn't enough as the Eagles dropped a 1-0 decision to the Spartans on Tuesday night in Northern Athletics Conference action.
Benedictine (5-5-1, 4-3-0) gave up an early goal in the 2nd minute to Nicole Wolfe with the assist from Christine Kwilosz.
Up 1-0 Aurora (10-3, 7-0) continued to put on the offensive pressure. Despite out-shooting the Eagles 23-3 in the game, the BenU defense held tough, not allowing another goal.
Michelle Del Sarto tallied 14 saves, eight in the first half and six in the second.

The women's soccer team is back in action on Saturday night when they host Concordia-Wisconsin at 4:30 p.m. on homecoming.
