ROCKFORD, Ill. -
Nikki Jhanji scored four goals to help lead the Benedictine University women's soccer team to a 13-1 win over Rockford College on Tuesday night.
Jhanji put BenU (4-2-1) up 1-0 just a minute into the game, unassisted. Rockford's Alexa Torman tied the game in the 12 minute, scoring the Regents only goal of the game.
The Eagles would take a 5-1 lead at halftime with goals from Jhanji,
Erika Wossner and
Jasmin Nunez.
The Eagle offense would dominate the second half, scoring eight goals including the hat trick plus one from Jhanjiand two goals from
Rachael Hodison and
Kristina Frampton. Nunez, Wossner and
Ale Farias also scored second half goals.
Benedictine out-shot the Regents 46-3 in the game including 31 shots on goal.
Rockford's keeper Gabriela Delafuente had 13 saves in the game while
Michelle Del Sarto tallied one save.
The Eagles, who are undefeated in Northern Athletics Conference action, will continue NAC play on Saturday, Sept. 24 when they take on Lakeland College at 1:00 p.m. at the Sports Complex.
