LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team remained undefeated in Northern Athletics Conference action after they beat Lakeland College, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.
Lakeland (3-6, 2-2 NAC) took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute on a goal from Monica Santelli. 
Maricruz Zarco quickly tied the game in the 31st minute after a corner kick from 
Nikki Jhanji. With less than a minute to go in the half, 
Jasmin Nunez found the back of the net to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead at halftime.
In the second half, BenU (5-2-1, 4-0 NAC) allowed the Muskies just two shots and tallied six of their own. In the 75th minute, Ashely Davey gave Benedictine some breathing room as she scored her first goal of the season to give BenU the 3-1 victory.
Benedictine out-shot Lakeland 15-4. The LC keeper, Ashley Sarbacker had six saves while BenU's 
Michelle Del Sarto tallied three.
The women's soccer team is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 28, when they host Dominican University at 7:00 p.m. at the Sports Complex.
