LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran in a tight match on Wednesday night.
Benedictine held a 6-5 edge in shots during the first 45 minutes of play but Wisconsin Lutheran was able to control much of the possession time late in the second half. Austin Drake produced the lone goal with just inside of 10 minutes remaining, driving home a finish from 30 yards away.
The visiting Warriors held a 13-10 edge in shots for the match with eight coming in the second half.
Zorohn Reed stopped four shots in net for Benedictine.
Alberto Mendez produced four shots for the Eagles, one of which was on goal.
The Eagles (2-11, 2-5) will host Marian University on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. Benedictine will honor its senior class Saturday evening with Senior Day.
