LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team scored a late goal to tie the contest but Marian rebounded with a late tally as well to post a 2-1 win over the Eagles on Senior Day Saturday.
Following an even and scoreless 45 minutes, the visitors opened the scoring in the 59th minute. Benedictine received a penalty kick following a foul in the box in the 82nd minute and
Tara Tarazoff converted to tie the match. Marian struck with less than two minutes to play, grabbing the lead and stealing the win.
Marian (7-7, 7-2) held a 15-5 advantage in shots.
Kristina Frampton, starting for the third consecutive match, stopped four shots in goal.
Benedictine (5-8-2, 4-5-1) takes a break from conference play with the season winding down on Tuesday, visiting Lake Forest for a 4:00 p.m. affair.
