LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team was defeated by Aurora 2-0 in its home finale on Tuesday night.
Both teams played even through the first 45 minutes with Aurora holding a slim edge in shots at 8-5. The first goal scored in the 59th minute as Aurora converted on a corner kick. Just under 10 minutes later the visiting Spartans extended the lead with a goal off a 50/50 ball just outside the box. Aurora outshot Benedictine 11-1 in the second half, controlling the pace.
Zorohn Reed stopped four shots in goal.
Benedictine (3-12, 3-6) hits the road for the final two matches of the season. The Eagles travel to MSOE on Saturday in Milwaukee for a 1:00 p.m. match.
