Women's Soccer Falls in Final Non-Conference Match

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team suffered its second consecutive defeat, falling to Lake Forest 4-2 in the final non-conference match of the year.

Lake Forest raced out early, scoring a pair of goals in the opening 10 minutes to take command. Just 13 minutes into the contest the lead extended to 3-0. Tara Tarazoff found the back of the net in the 33rd minute to pull Benedictine within 3-1. The marker was the fifth of the year for the freshman, who scored unassisted.

Briana Grenke pulled the Eagles within a goal just after the break with a finish in the 50th minute off a feed from Katerina Cavaligos. Lake Forest provided insurance in the 63rd minute.

For the match, Lake Forest held a 20-9 edge in shots. Kristina Frampton recorded a season high 10 saves in goal.

Benedictine (5-9-2) is winless in the last seven matches, having not recorded a win since September 22. The Eagles return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. on the road against MSOE.
