RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team fell in a stiff test against Dominican University, the nationally ranked leaders of the Northern Athletics Conference, by a 5-0 score on the road Tuesday.
Dominican (8-1-1, 5-0) needed just 16 minutes to open a 1-0 lead, taking advantage of a turnover in the box to open the scoring. Just over 20 minutes later the hosts extended the lead to 2-0 on an unassisted tally. With a 3-0 lead late in the second half, the Stars converted on back-to-back goals less than two minutes apart in the final 10 minutes.
Zorohn Reed stopped eight shots in goal as Dominican held a commanding edge.
Benedictine (2-9, 2-3) continues a brief two match roadtrip against conference competition at Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
