LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team put together a late surge in the second half to score the tying goal and ended in a 1-1 draw with Wisconsin Lutheran on Tuesday.
The match featured plenty of back and forth action. Wisconsin Lutheran opened the scoring late in the first half when Emily Sowinski beat keeper
Kristina Frampton, making her second consecutive start, to the near side with a redirect of a deflection in the 37th minute.
Benedictine adjusted in the second half and outshot the visitors 5-2, keeping consistent pressure. The Eagles tied the match in the final minute of regulation time when a deflection of a shot from
Nikki Jhanji was headed into the goal by Wisconsin Lutheran. Neither team was able to score in the overtime sessions and the match ended in a draw.
Wisconsin Lutheran (6-6-3, 3-4-1) held a slim 14-13 edge in shots with four coming in overtime including three in the second session. Both teams placed four shots on target. Frampton halted three shots in goal. Jhanji posted five shots with
