RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team dropped its conference opener, falling 64-61 at Concordia Chicago on Wednesday.
Benedictine failed to hold a 10-point lead at the break, racing to a 40-30 advantage thanks in part to visiting the free throw line 23 times.
The Eagles led by 12 early in the second before the hosts came storming back, taking the lead with just under eight minutes remaining.
Katie Hunzinger registered another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Sierra Dunner also scored 12 points in the defeat.
Benedictine (0-5, 0-1) welcomes Lakeland to the Rice Center on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
