ELMHURST, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's basketball team will head into Christmas break on a losing note, falling to Elmhurst College 81-64 on Thursday night.
Elmhurst led the entire game, scoring the first nine points of the contest. Benedictine pulled within two at 10-8 when
Jordan Taylor split a pair of free throws with 12:43 left in the first but Elmhurst immediately extended the margin up to double digits. The host Bluejays led by as many as 15 points in the frame as the Eagles shot just 21.7 percent from the field with five field goals. The second half brought more of the same as Benedictine trailed by as many as 26 points.
Michael Woolf paced Benedictine with 13 points while
Tim McGinty added 10 in the defeat. Benedictine (3-9) has yet to win back-to-back games this season.
