Men's Hoops Drops Final Non-Conference Contest



KENOSHA, Wis. - The Benedictine University men's basketball team dropped its final non-conference game of the season on Sunday night, losing at Carthage 79-60.

Benedictine never led in the game. Carthage held a 13-point lead at the mid-way point of the first half but Benedictine rallied to tie the contest with a 14-2 run. Raphael Ogelsby opened the run with a three and Oglesby capped it with a layup to knot the score at 30-30 with 5:10 remaining.

Benedictine was able to tie the score again in the second half at 51-51 when Jon Bock nailed a jumoer with 13:42 to play. Carthage scored the next eight points and went on to cruise to the final.

Tim McGinty and Oglesby each scored 12 points to pace Benedictine. The Eagles shot 54.5 percent in the first half but just 33.3 in the second to finish the contest at 42.9 percent.

Benedictine (3-10) will resume conference play on January 5 at Concordia Wisconsin with a 4:15 p.m. affair.
