Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in conference play by posting its third consecutive shutout Tuesday night at Alverno in a 2-0 victory.
An unassisted goal in each half accounted for the scoring as Benedictine outshot Alverno 17-7. The Eagles opened the scoring in the 28th minute when
Lynzi Misuraca drove home a blast from 20 yards away. Benedictine held a 7-0 edge in shots during the first 45 minutes with Misuraca's goal coming on the sixth of those.
Alverno (2-2, 0-2) tightened up in the second half, creating some chances to only be outshot 10-7. Benedictine collected an insurance goal in the 59th minute when
Tara Tarazoff netted the first goal of her collegiate career.
Candace Rogers did not face a shot in goal, posting the third consecutive shutout.
Benedictine (3-2) next plays at home against Manchester as part of the homecoming weekend festivities. Kick-off is at 11:30 a.m. at The Sports Complex.
