LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team dropped its first conference match of the year, falling 4-1 at home to Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday evening.
The visiting Cougars never trailed, scoring in the 18th minute to open a 1-0 lead. Benedictine outshot Concordia Chicago 9-8 in the second half, but goals less than five minutes apart early in the second half extended the lead to 3-0.
Julio Lopez had a quick answer, tallying the lone Benedictine goal just 33 seconds after the second Concordia (1-7-1, 1-2-1) marker on a feed from
Matt Ahrens. Concordia added a goal late to put the contest out of reach.
Benedictine (2-7, 2-1) faces Edgewood in a home matchup at the Sports Complex on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
