LISLE, Ill. - Despite scoring the first goal of the contest, the Benedictine University men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Edgewood on Saturday night.

Edgar Reyes opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, depositing a feed from Julio Lopez into the back of the net to hand Benedictine a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later Paul Domann registered the equalizer into an open goal. The match remained all square until Edgewood conveted on a penalty kick with just over two mintues to play for the deciding tally. The visitors held a 10-6 edge in shots.

Benedictine (2-8, 2-2) will hit the road for a pair of matches next week. The Eagles travel to nationally ranked Dominican on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
