MEQUON, Wis. - The Benedictine University men's basketball team was outscored by 13 points in the second half, falling to Concordia Wisconsin 61-53 on the road Saturday afternoon.
Following a Concordia Wisconsin three to open the contest, Benedictine recorded 11 consecutive points capped with a
Tim McGinty layup to grab an 11-3 lead with 16:52 to play in the first half. Concordia Wisconsin was playing catch-up from there, trailing the entire half. A late basket brought the hosts within 33-28 at the break.
Concordia Wisconsin opened the second half on a 12-2 run to take the lead. Benedictine remained close, clawing within a single point on three occasions, but could never again surpass the Falcons. Benedictine made only five shots in the second half and shot 19.2 percent.
McGinty and
Dale Renshaw scored nine points apiece to lead Benedictine. The Eagles (3-11, 1-4) will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday night for a 7:00 p.m. contest looking to stop a three-game losing streak.
