MEQUON, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team fell back to .500 in conference play with a 3-1 road defeat at Concordia University Wisconsin.
Two first half tallies from Anna Hirssig opened a 2-0 lead for the hosts. The first goal came in the 15th minute of the match as Concordia Wisconsin tallied five shots and a corner kick in the first third of the opening half.
Benedictine managed just one shot in the opening half. Concordia Wisconsin distanced the lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 84th minute.
Nikki Jhanji was able to break up the shut out with a goal in the 86th minute on a free kick from just outside the box.
Abby Gary helped keep Benedictine close, battling through a 14-3 disparity in shots. Gary stopped four shots in the defeat.
Benedictine (4-7-1, 2-2-1) is on the road at North Park on Tuesday night.
