ELMHURST, Ill. - Despite putting together one of its best efforts of the season, the Benedictine University women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss at Elmhurst in non-conference action on Tuesday.

Benedictine played a strong opening 45 minutes, holding Elmhurst at bay. The effort continued into the second half as well. Elmhurst managed just one goal in the contest, coming in the 72nd minute.

Abby Gary had a stellar performance in goal, making 12 saves including seven during the opening half. Four different players recorded shots for Benedictine.

Benedictine (2-5) opens play in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference on Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran.
