LISLE, Ill - The Benedictine University women's soccer team was shutout by Edgewood College 5-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Saturday.

Benedictine had a lot of early opportunities created through corner kicks, but couldn't place a shot on goal. Edgewood opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. The goal was the lone tally of the first half. Edgewood held a slim 3-2 edge in shots while Benedictine received four corner kicks.

Edgewood pulled away with four second half goals. The first two goals came just over a minute apart early in the second half on a penalty kick and a one-timer. Abby Gary made two saves for Benedictine as Edgewood held a 9-5 advantage in shots for the game. Five different individuals posted shots for Benedictine.

Benedictine (3-6-1, 1-2-1) returns to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon with a road match at Rockford.
