NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team took home second place at the Sal Vaccaro Tournament hosted by North Central, falling to Lewis & Clark 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Lewis & Clark put on constant pressure in the opening 45 minutes, scoring five times with four finding the back of the net in the first 16 minutes. Candace Rogers made eight saves in net during the half as Lewis & Clark held a 15-2 edge in shots.
The second half brought a much more even contest.
Kristina Frampton, normally a field player but did appear in goal on several occasions last season, made three saves and didn't allow a goal as the shots were just 8-3 in favor of Lewis & Clark.
Nikki Jhanji tallied her fifth goal of the season in the 52nd minute, putting home a feed from
Olivia Montoya. Late in the second Jhanji nearly struck again, drilling the crossbar on a first time volley from
Tara Tarazoff.
