Women’s Soccer Set for Aurora, Marian

The Benedictine University women's soccer team has two Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference teams on the schedule this week. BenU will host Aurora University on Wednesday night and travel to Marian University on Saturday.

Women's soccer heads into the week riding some momentum, as the team defeated Lakeland College 2-1 on Saturday. The Eagles struck early, netting two goals in the first 12 minutes of the match. Danielle Melotte scored her team-high sixth goal in the seventh minute off a Paige Velez pass, and just four minutes later, Velez found Megan Anderson for her third goal of the season. Lakeland scored its lone goal in the match's 88th minute, as BenU's stout defense held the Muskies to just seven shots and four shots on goal. BenU moved to 4-11-1 overall and 2-5-0 in conference play (eighth place) on the year.
