CHICAGO, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team wrapped the first weekend of play by suffering a 4-1 loss at the University of Chicago on Monday.
Benedictine grabbed an early 1-0 by scoring in the fifth minute.
Nick Kapetanos netted the first goal of his college career on a header off a corner kick from
Edgar Reyes. The lead held for the duration of the opening 45 minutes. Chicago evened the game early in the second half on an own goal and took the lead on a penalty kick in the 60th minute. The hosts added two late markers to account for the final. Benedictine played over half the match a man down after two yellow cards.
Steve Mack stopped seven shots in goal. Benedictine managed six shots in the game with two each coming from Reyes and
Ante Markotic. Benedictine (0-2) competes at the Illinois Wesleyan Classic next weekend with a pair of games.
