Holst, Malone Compete at Final Qualifier

The Benedictine University women's track and field team set two athletes to the Gill Athletics Final Qualifier at Carthage College on Friday night. Both Megan Malone and Brittany Holst competed in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Malone competed in the weight throw and placed fifth in the event with a mark of 16.26m, moving up the national leadboard to 24th. In the pole vault, Holst placed fourth at 3.26m.

"Our ladies had a wonderful indoor season," said Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Kevin Paterson. "We saw great performances every single meet, and that is all you can ask for. Now, the focus shifts to the outdoor season, where we hope to set new records and national marks."

With the Top 18 student-athletes heading to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships next weekend in North Carolina, the Eagles will not have any qualifiers on the women's side. Benedictine women's track and field will be back in action on March 27 and 28 to begin the outdoor season at Washington University in St. Louis.
