The Benedictine University men's track and field team hosted the Twilight Invite on Friday night at the Village of Lisle/Benedictine University Sports Complex, placing 12th in the large meet.
Megan Malone put together another banner day in the throws, placing second in the hammer (50.04m), sixth in the shot put (11.90m), and 12th in the discus (36.39m).
Lauren Burish (13th in the discus, 35.92m) and
Allison Taylor (16th in the javelin, 26.26m) also put together strong meets in the throwing events. In the pole vault,
Brittany Holst placed seventh at 3.19m.
Two athletes stood out for BenU on the track. In the 100m,
Nicole Millard placed ninth at 13.42s.
Julie Carroll was strong in the distance runs, placing 14th in the 800m (2:35.32) and 25th in the 1500 (5:01.65).
The Eagles are back in action on May 1 and 2 at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on May 1.
