APPLETON, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team opened a weekend in Wisconsin by dropping a 1-0 decision to Lawrence University.
Benedictine dictated the pace in both halves but could not find the back of the net. The Eagles peppered the goal with 14 shots on target but were denied every time. The lone goal scored in the 23rd minute for the hosts. The final chance for Benedictine came in the 80th minute but
Allison Lambert could not put it in the back of the net.
The Benedictine attack was balanced. Lambert posted three shots, all on goal.
Jackie Elzakhem also recorded three shots on goal.
Maddie Frye played the entire contest in net, making six saves. Benedictine held a 17-10 advantage in shots.
Benedictine (1-1) travels to Ripon for a Sunday afternoon contest.
