MILWAUKEE, WI - The Benedictine University men's soccer team picked up a key NACC victory at MSOE on a soggy Staurday.

Benedictine 3, MSOE 1
• The start of the contest was moved up due to weather and then was delayed before finally starting over an hour after the initial scheduled time
• Benedictine wasted no time in setting the tone
• Lukasz Sulka fired an attempt wide in just the second minute
• Nick Kapetanos opened the scoring in the sixth minute, poking home a through ball from
Erik Stammer from 14 yards out
• MSOE was able to tie the match on a give-and-go in the 37th minute
• Benedictine was able to respond quickly, taking the lead for good in the 41st minute
• Sulka cleaned up a rebound from a Kapetanos attempt
• The final goal came from
Hugo Gomez, directing a rebound of an attempt from
Larry Meehan into the net in the 73rd minute
• Benedictine held a 17-13 advantage in shots with 11 coming in the second half
• Kapetanos paced the team with six shots while Sulka added four
• Benedictine also held a 5-1 edge in corner opportunities
• Antonio Marti Polo returned in net and stopped four shots
