CHICAGO, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team, ranked 16th by the United Soccer Coaches, opened the season with a shutout loss at Norrth Park University.

• North Park needed only seven minutes to take the lead, scoring on the first opportunity of the game
• Hayden Van Son posted the first shot of the year in the 14th minute, missing high
• North Park scored again in the 37th minute
• Down 2-0, Benedictine put together a frantic finish to the half but went into the stoppage down 2-0
• Benedictine set the tone early in the second half but could not strike
• North Park made it 3-0 in the 59th minute and did not yield


• North Park held a 14-10 edge in shots
• Antonio Marti Polo stopped five shots in net
• Lukasz Sulka notched four shots with one on target
• Carlos Gallardo finished with two shots


Benedictine (0-1) opens the home schedule on Sunday night against visiting Whitworth University at 7:00 p.m.
