LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's soccer team opened the home portion of the schedule by suffering a 3-0 loss to Illinois Wesleyan University.

• The defense held strong for nearly the entire first half, pushing back attack after attack
• The visitors were able to break through in the 29th minute, scoring the only goal in the opening 45 minutes
• Two goals less than 10 minutes apart early in the second stretched the margin to 3-0
• Benedictine drew a foul in the box in the 70th minute, setting up a penalty kick
• Danielle Melotte took the shot but was stopped on a save
• Stephanie Nichols created a late opportunity but was also stopped
• Illinois Wesleyan held a 19-3 lead in shots and improved to 3-0 on the season
• Cassidy Henson had a busy day in goal, recording nine saves
• Holly Ward recorded the other shot for Benedictine
