MILWAUKEE, WI - The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference has named
Charlotte Youell as the Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Youell posted the top time in the conference in the 800 meters early this season at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open, the kick-off to the year. Benedictine was one of just a handful of Division III programs to compete at an event featuring mainly scholarship schools and did not feature a full roster of athletes. Youell toured the track in 2:25.87, taking 11th overall.
Benedictine will compete again on January 19 at Olivet Nazarene.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Charlotte Youell of Benedictine University and Ryan Njegovan of Aurora University have been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Indoor Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Week for week of December 3-9, 2018, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Youell, a junior from Joliet, Illinois, ran to an 11th-place finish in the 800-meter run at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open. Her time of 2:25.87 is currently the league's top mark in the event.
Njegovan, a senior from Sandwich, Illinois, returned to the indoor track arena after a year off and picked up right where he left off. He placed third in the shot put at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open with a throw of 16.05 meters (52-8). Njegovan's mark currently tops the NACC performance list and ranks third in NCAA Division III.
