RIVER FOREST, IL - Abbie Graham scored twice as the Benedictine University women's soccer team opened conference play with a 2-0 win over Concordia Chicago on the road Wednesday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine created the first four shots of the match, all coming from different individuals
• Graham,
Katie Farb,
Sabie Ramirez and
Kayleigh Sommer all produced chances within a 10-minute sequence early
• Benedictine did not have another shot the remainder of the half but held stout on defense to deny seven attempts from the hosts, three of which were on goal
• The second half started similar to the first with Benedictine creating several chances but unable to strike
• Three more individuals took shots including
Eve Meintz,
Katy Fredericksen and
Stephanie Nichols
• The first goal of the afternoon finally happened in the 56th minute
• A foul just outside the box set up a free kick for Graham, who drove home the goal past the CUC defense into the left corner (

• Benedictine hit the post twice in the final minute on a counter attack
• The win marked the first in shutout fashion this year
• Cassidy Henson recorded seven saves in net during the shutout
• Benedictine tallied 10 shots in the second half and finished with a 14-13 edge in the up-tempo affair

"We showed a lot of adversity today with CUC putting a lot of pressure on us early in the second half," head coach
Kyle Stewart said. "The team responded well in the second half to allow us to win the game. This is a great start to conference play and look forward to using the momentum moving forward."
