LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team continued a difficult non-conference schedule by hosting a Final Four team from last season on Wednesday.

THE DETAILS
• Benedictine side-stepped early corner kick opportunities for Chicago before creating a corner themselves
• Yair Ortega served the ball into the box and
Hayden Van Son headed the ball home to net his first of the year and hand Benedictine a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute
• Another corner kick just a couple minutes later allowed Chicago to tie the game following a reset in the 16th minute
• The visitors continually created chances, breaking through in the final minute of the half
• Chicago scored on a rebound after a throw-in to beat the clock and grab the lead in the closing seconds of the half
• Neither team scored again
• Chicago posted 11 corner kicks in the game and held a 16-4 advantage in shots
• Shawn Chervets finished with a pair of saves in the contest
• Van Son notched a pair of shots
• The start of the game was delayed due to lightning
