LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's soccer team closed the home portion of the scheduled with a shutout of Lakeland on Sunday afternoon.

THE DETAILS
• Playing for the second time in 24 hours, Benedictine wasted no time in setting the tone
• Lakeland posted an early shot on goal that was stopped by Cassidy Henson before Abbie Graham guided a header into the back of the net for her fourth goal of the weekend
• Just over seven minutes later Holly Ward extended the lead to 2-0, driving home a feed from Katie Farb
• Benedictine held a 3-0 lead at the half, padding the edge in the 34th minute when Cali Carl connected with Dania Abedrabbo
• The seniors, Henson, Sammie Sarles, Ward, Kayleigh Sommer and Graham were all honored at halftime
• The lone goal of the second half came in the 83rd minute when Carl connected on an unassisted marker
• Benedictine held a 29-2 edge in shots, dominating possession time while peppering the goal with 16 shots on target
• Henson faced two shots and made a save in tallying her eighth shutout of the year
